After graduating from Mahasaraswati University in Denpasar, Bali, Desak Widyaningsih (Widya) was awarded a Frans Seda Scholarship to continue her studies in Academic English in Australia. She completed a Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning at Charles Darwin University. Having been placed in different schools as a pre-service teacher and a volunteer, her love for teaching languages continued to grow. She enjoys working with different age groups and is always up for the challenges different students give her.
During her teaching career at IALF Bali, Widya has had experience teaching different classes including General English, Young Learners, Specialised English programs, IELTS preparation courses, and Indonesian as a foreign language. She was also given the opportunity to take the Cambridge Young Learners Extension to CELTA course. In 2015, she participated in the WILTA program where she visited schools in Western Australia, introducing the language and culture of Indonesia. Two years later, she joined a similar program in Lismore, New South Wales, Australia.
During the past few years, Widya has focused on the teaching of Specialised English Language programs where she has had the opportunity to work with the staff of Angkasa Pura Aviation Security and the staff of Oberoi Hotel Lombok.
