Paul Williams was born in London, where he spent the first 28 years of his life. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from City University and went on to work in various marketing and finance roles in the capital. In 2015, he decided it was time for a change and set his sights on a more rewarding career—teaching. That’s when he packed up, left his hometown, and set off on the trip of a lifetime, travelling across Southeast Asia.
While exploring this new part of the world, Paul enrolled in a CELTA course in Beijing, China, with plans to start his teaching journey. After gaining his certification, he began teaching at English First in Bali, before moving to IALF Bali in 2017. There, he taught General English and young learners for the next four years.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Paul moved into online education, working with companies in South Korea, the USA, and Taiwan. His main focus was on interview and exam preparation, as well as business and conversational English, teaching students from around the globe.
As the world gradually returned to normal, Paul rejoined IALF Bali in 2023, where he now specialises in IELTS training, Business English, and English for Academic Purposes. Outside the classroom, his love for travelling and discovering new places continues to remain strong. He also enjoys playing football, tennis, and occasionally hiking mountains.
