Candra began working at IALF Bali in January 2006 as a Program Officer with Academic English Language Services which includes the delivery of IELTS tests and services.
Candra looks after the day to day administration of Australia Awards Scholarships awardees – a very important job as each year IALF Bali has around 120-140 awardees joining pre-departure training. She manages a lot of student paperwork, provides orientation information about IALF facilities and services, arranges the medical check- ups which are necessary for applying for Australian study visas, assists students finding accommodation near IALF, and arranges social activities, to name but a few of her activities!
Besides these important clients, Candra also handles clients of the wider English for Academic Purposes program, where students come to study academic English, mostly with a long-term view of studying overseas. In recent years Kementerian Riset dan Teknologi, Kementerian Agama, various Islamic universities and the government of Papua have all sponsored courses at IALF Bali. IALF also began conducting courses for the Government of Timor-Leste in 2013.
Her duties also take her out of the office at times – she presented a paper to a Semiloka in Jayapura in 2008 about academic courses and IELTS tests which was attended by Pejabat Dinas Pendidikan from all districts in Papua Province. In 2014 Candra joined the IELTS Annual Meeting 2014 in Kuala Lumpur for 3 days, where IELTS staff worldwide discuss issues in administration of IELTS tests.
