Barnaby Tricker was born and grew up in the southwest of England in the county of Somerset. After initially working in the tobacco industry, he decided that office work was not for him, and decided to become an English teacher instead. After taking an English teaching course in Egypt, he set off to begin his teaching career in Ecuador. Barnaby has since taught English in Australia, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand and of course Indonesia. In addition to having a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Barnaby holds the Cambridge/RSA Certificate in Teaching English to Adults (CELTA), the Cambridge/RSA Diploma in Teaching English to Adults (DELTA), and the Cambridge/RSA Young Learner extension to the CELTA. He is also an accreditated international English language test examiner.
Barnaby has extensive teaching experience to a whole range of students of all ages. Some of his most notable students include special forces military (KOPASUS) officers in Jakarta, and also many Australian and New Zealand scholarship awardees.
After a lifetime of jet setting to over 50 countries, Barnaby no longer takes much pleasure from travelling. These days, in his free time, Barnaby enjoys long walks on the beach, fine dining in up-town restaurants, and watching plays in the local theatre.
