As do many young people, Tom Speed was keen to travel around the world after finishing his university studies. He studied English at university in England and then started applying for positions overseas.
The very first job he was offered was in Indonesia about 8 years ago so he came here to see what life was like on the other side of the world. For the last 5 years he has been teaching at IALF Bali, working with all age ranges from young learners to adults. He finds Indonesian students very keen and enthusiastic and he says they are also well behaved. Tom has also discovered the freedom and laid back style of Bali – the variety of restaurants, both western and local, the fabulous hidden beaches and the very friendly people.
IALF uses the latest very latest teaching methods combined with modern facilities. Tom appreciates this and realizes how lucky IALF students are to be able to learn English at IALF. For the younger students, IALF classes are not just in the classroom but excursions are a regular feature. One that Tom remembers well is the day that the elementary school students (SD) went to Sanur Beach for a walk, a swim and then a BBQ. The whole day was English ONLY!
