All students enrolling an Intensive Indonesian course at IALF Jakarta are assumed to be beginners or virtual beginners and therefore no entrance test is necessary.
The course begins with topics such as introductions and greetings, times and dates, numbers and prices, and builds up to simple everyday exchanges. Other topics include identifying objects, shopping, talking about locations and directions, routines, family and health. There is an emphasis on active participation by the students. Activities often include extended practice in pairs or small groups. Language work is consolidated through an optional visit to a market, where students have the opportunity to use classroom language in an authentic context.
Assessment is on a continuous basis, with grades being assigned for performance in language tasks, homework and class participation. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
A minimum of 4 people is required to run a class.
