Young Learners in Bali

**8 weeks (24 hours) per course. The course fee is all-inclusive and covers all course materials, assessments, reports, certificates. Taught by Native Speakers & Indonesian teachers of English.

The dynamic and contemporary Young Learners program is offered to SD and SMP students, and is designed to ensure that they have lots of fun – while communicating in English.

Based on topics found in the National Curriculum, classes are stimulating, active and interactive. Teachers use a range of media, including photography, film and sound, and computer-based language games. Teaching takes place both in and out of the classroom, with class projects such as paper-making, puppetry, art and drama.

The 4 core skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing are all covered, and grammar is introduced based on communicative activities. Our aim is for the students to enjoy learning, to be creative and enquiring, to be active learners, and to gain self-confidence in actively using the language.

Courses are available for primary school students, SD Class 1 - 6, and for junior high school students, SMP Class 7 - 9.

Students who enroll in the Young Learners program will follow through 4-stages of learning; Diamond, Emerald, Pearl and Ruby. Each stage will have different topics, language components and functions as well as tasks. Assessments are task-based and done continuously counting towards the final assessment at the end of each level. Each level consists of 16 lessons delivered through 8 weeks of face-to-face learning. Each lesson will be 1,5 hours long, students will meet twice a week for a total of 8 weeks..

Parents are welcome to have a snack at the Garden Café and are of course invited to performances and presentations of work – as well as to the annual IALF Vocab Trivia competition.

The Young Learners program is taught by a combination of native speakers and Indonesian teachers of English.

All our teachers have either a degree in English language teaching, or a first degree and a recognised international teaching qualification such as the Trinity College London Certificate / Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. The Young Learners program is developed by IALF Bali. Courses at IALF Bali are accredited by BAN (Badan Akreditasi Nasional).
