Certificate in Communicative English Language Teaching
The C-CELT has a focus on practical methods, techniques and strategies that will work for you in the classroom. It is aimed at high school teachers as well as those working in private language school, and at university lecturers. We offer a four-week course covering general English teaching methodology, and specialist one-week modules focussing on particular aspects of teaching.
C-CELT One-week Modules
These 30-hour courses are open to the public, but we can also run them for groups of teachers or lecturers. We can also travel to your city to hold training on your campus or at your school.
In 2017, the following dates are scheduled, subject to numbers of participants:
- Teaching TOEFL® (20 – 24 February)
- Teaching IELTS (6-10 March)
- Teaching Business English (20 – 24 March)
We also plan to run the following module, Teaching Young Learners, in 2017. The date for this is not yet confirmed. If you are interested, please contact IALF Bali for further details.
C-CELT Four-week Course
This 12-hour course is normally run for institutions and interested groups over four weeks at our Bali centre (or by arrangement, at IALF Jakarta or IALF Surabaya, or on-site at your institution). After the successful completion of the C-CELT, you can undertake three, internationally recognized, Cambridge English TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) modules as external validation of your achievement.
The course runs from Monday – Friday, covering 30 hours of classroom input sessions, tutorials, guided observations and teaching practice. The modules combine classroom input, guided observations of experienced teachers, and the opportunity to plan and deliver short English language lessons either to other participants (peer-teaching) or to a group of ‘real’ students. You will receive guidance and feedback from experienced IALF tutors.
