Agnes Shanti Nindyarini has been living in Bali for over 14 years. She is originally from Java. In 2001 Agnes started work with IALF Bali and during her time at IALF she has been involved in many different program areas as including Young Learners, General, Business and Hotel English.
IALF offers staff terrific opportunities for advancement and Agnes has certainly taken on some very challenging roles over her time in Bali. In 2004 Agnes worked with the IALF Publications Team developing a set of course books for teaching English in Indonesian junior high schools. The materials were published by Airlangga Press Jakarta and the series was called ‘Flying Start’.
Agnes assisted in the development and production of materials for several IALF Projects including ELTIS (English Language Training for Islamic Schools), ELTA (English Language Training Assistance), KELP (Kiribati English Language Program) and ETELP (East Timor English Language Program). As a part of her work with KELP, Agnes spent 3 months on the South Pacific island of Kirabati assisting local teachers to develop and deliver English language materials in their classrooms.
In September 2015 Agnes accepted the role of Coordinator of IALF’s Young Learner Programs in Bali. As a mother herself of 3 young learners, Agnes knew that this role was perfect for her. In late 2015 Agnes developed a Young Learners Placement Test for the 2016 programs. All Young Learners entering IALF will now be placed in classes according to their English language abilities.
These new students will be the first to study in IALF Bali’s new Young Learner’s Center. These new premises include specially designed classrooms for younger students, a Reading Zone and Story Telling area. Classes in the Young Learner’s Center will begin in January 2016.
