All three IALF centres were involved in the launch of the publication TERRA. TERRA is a bilingual anthology from Wordstorm, the Northern Territory Writers’ Festival. The collection of 65 short stories and poetry by 45 Austronesian authors was sponsored by the Australia Indonesia Institute, ArtsNT and the IALF and jointly published by Kata Kita and the NT Writers’ Centre. At IALF Jakarta several of the authors – Ayu Utami, Sam Wagan Watson and Sean Whelan – conducted a recital of their works and participated in a panel discussion. The audience consisted of AusAID scholarship students, undertaking English language training prior to leaving for postgraduate study in Australia, as well as invited guests. |
