Kity Karenisa and Esra Nelvi Siagian from the National Language Centre of Indonesia – Pusat Bahasa – visited IALF Jakarta recently to discuss resources for the teaching of Indonesian as a foreign language. Kity and Esra met with IALF teachers Asjik Mubanar and Tetty Simanjuntak and were particularly interested in the Album Indonesia CD Rom. This resource, recently revised and updated, is produced by Planet Learning and is an excellent multi-media learning resource at the beginner level. Kity and Esra were also interested to know how the IALF promoted its Indonesian language program to foreigners living in Jakarta and discussed the possibility of creating a database of providers of Indonesian language training to expatriates in Indonesia.
