The IALF has been teaching English in Indonesia for over twenty years and has attained a strong reputation for success, especially in the area of specialised English language training. The IALF is well-known for its courses in Academic English and IELTS Preparation as well as its extensive programs in General English. The General English programs at IALF Bali and IALF Surabaya are open to the public and have a range of courses at different levels. Students sit for a placement test so that the course they take matches their entry level of English.

Academic English

Academic English – many of the courses in Academic English are for donor agencies, such as AusAID, CIDA, the World Bank and the ADB. These courses are usually specially designed to prepare Indonesians for post-graduate or further study overseas.

The IALF also offers similar programs to the public for students wishing to prepare for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in an English language environment, whether in Indonesia or overseas.

IELTS Preparation

The IALF specializes in preparing students for study overseas and offers a range of IELTS Preparation courses of various lengths. These courses aim to familiarise students with the components of the IELTS test and to provide practice in language skills and test-taking strategies.

Courses are either semi-intensive or intensive and can also be delivered off-site on client premises.

All IALF branches are IELTS test centres and IELTS test schedules and information on how to register for the IELTS test are available on this website.

General English

Both IALF Surabaya and IALF Bali run a program of General English courses for adults. IALF Bali also runs courses for students from SD and SMP.

Business English

All three IALF branches offer a wide range of Business English courses for participants who have at least pre-intermediate levels of English language proficiency and wish to develop their business communication skills to an internationally recognized standard.

Specialised Business English courses can be developed to meet the needs of individual clients. Classes can be held either in-house or on IALF premises.

IALF Bali also offers its Business Communication Skills program for the public.
