IELTS (International
English Language Testing System) measures proficiency to communicate
in English across all four language skills – listening, reading,
writing and speaking – for people who intend to study, work
or live where English is the language of communication. The test was taken by more than 1,400,000 candidates in 2009.
The IELTS test is available in two formats: Academic
and General Training.
Over 6,000 educational institutions, government agencies and professional
organisations across 135 countries around the world recognise IELTS
scores as a trusted and valid indicator of ability to communicate
in English.
The test is also used to assess the level of English language proficiency
of those applying to migrate to Australia (DIAC),
Canada (CIC) or
New Zealand (NZIS).
The test is held at least three times a month at IALF Jakarta, twice a month at IALF Surabaya and monthly at IALF Bali.. The IALF also holds regular IELTS tests
administrations at provincial sites as well as in Dili, Timor Leste.
Off-site tests can also be arranged for special groups of no less
than 12 candidates. Please contact
IALF for more information regarding off-site IELTS testing.
IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.
The IALF specializes in preparing students for study overseas and
