About IALF

The IALF program for training in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) is both the most extensive and the most effective in South East Asia. Through its public courses and its specialized training programs for donor agencies, the IALF has prepared over 10,000 students for English-medium study and training in Australia, North America, Europe and New Zealand.

The IALF has been providing intensive EAP courses for development agencies for over 25 years. The Australian government, through AusAID, and the Canadian government, through CIDA, are long-standing clients of the IALF.

Students can also choose to attend public courses in English for Academic Purposes or courses that focus on preparation for English tests required by overseas universities. These tests include IELTS and TOEFL.

The resources and facilities at the IALF for studying EAP are the best in Indonesia and registered students have access to these resources Monday to Saturday.

Academic English at IALF Jakarta

The courses in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at IALF Jakarta aim to equip learners with the language, study and cross-cultural skills required to succeed in higher education overseas. Course components include: Academic English, cross-cultural communication skills, study skills, information literacy skills and computer skills. IALF Jakarta has provided EAP courses for a wide range of clients and donor agencies such as AusAID (Australia), CIDA (Canada) and DfID (UK) as well as for the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. Courses can also be designed for specialised training needs, for example, for students preparing to study overseas in areas such as health, law & governance or environmental studies.

IALF Jakarta is the first of the three IALF branches to gain NEAS accreditation. NEAS - National English Language Teaching Accreditation Scheme - is a self-funding, independent and non-profit organisation that works closely with government and the private sector to maintain high levels of quality in the provision of English language training. NEAS is responsible for accrediting English language teaching schools in Australia. IALF Jakarta was the first centre outside Australia to gain accreditation by NEAS International.

Please contact IALF Jakarta for more information on EAP programs.
